Super simple homemade cheesy popcorn – made in 2 minutes in the microwave! Great for the kids lunch boxes or an easy snack after school.

🍴Serves: 1 – 2  
🕒 Prep: 5 mins Cook: 2 mins


  • ¼ cup popping kernels
  • 2-3 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • Brown paper bag


  1. Place popcorn kernels into brown paper bag
  2. Roll top of bag over a couple of times
  3. Microwave for 2 minutes
  4. Grate parmesan cheese
  5. Add cheese to bag and shake
  6. Enjoy!


Try also sprinkling a little onion and garlic power onto popcorn.

Not suitable for children under 3-5 due to the popcorn being a choking risk.

      On the cook top. Heat a little oil in the pan (enough to thinly cover base), cover with a lid and allow a minute for it to get hot. Test by adding a single kernel, it should sizzle, then you know oil is ready. Add some pop corn and cover again. Wait until you hear popping. Shake pan carefully, every now and again, so that popcorn doesn’t burn. When you stop hearing the popping, it is ready.
