Have you tried chia jam? A ‘healthier’ jam with just 4 ingredients and can be prepared in under 5 minutes (using a food processor). Quick, easy and delicious!

🍴Makes: 1
🕒 Prep: 5 mins


  • 1½ cups frozen berries defrosted
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar or sweetener of your choice)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2-3 tablespoons of chia seeds (based on how thick you want the jam to be)


  1. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor
  2. Blend for 1 min or until smooth
  3. Transfer into a jar and store in the fridge
  4. Refrigerate overnight


Use within a couple of days.

Try using any fruits, fresh or frozen.

1½ punnets of fresh strawberries and maple syrup is a nice combination to try!

    Hi, doe this strawberry and ghia seeds jam have much texture. I know pureeing the fruit is to make it smooth. Is much texture coming the chia seeds? Thank you . I have two little strawberry monster’s children who love their jam. I have caught both of my son’s eating store bought jam which loaded with sugar eating spoonfuls of jam.

      Hi Lisa,
      There is some texture from the chia seeds. Almost a grainy texture. You can add a little honey or sugar or maple syrup if they like it slightly sweeter (especially if used to sweeter jam). A little jam won’t hurt children (and you can buy some that are sweetened with juice rather than sugar if you prefer). Ideally we don’t want them to be sneaking it 🙂
