Family love roast chicken? Try this easy to prepare roast chicken with lemon, apple, garlic and sweet potatoes. Serve with extra roast veggies or a side salad.

🍴Serves: 4-6
🕒 Prep: 10 mins Cook: 90 mins


  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 raw chicken
  • 1 lemon
  • ½ tablespoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1 large sweet potato
  • 1 green apple
  • 4 cloves garlic


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C
  2. Spread 2 tablespoons oil onto a large roasting tray
  3. Add chicken to tray
  4. Cut lemon in half and insert into chicken
  5. Rub 1 tablespoon oil onto chicken and sprinkle with herbs
  6. Cut potatoes and apples into chunks and place around chicken
  7. Place garlic cloves around veggies (no need to peel, you can do this before you eat them)
  8. Cook for 1½ hours


Serve with extra roast vegetables or a side salad.
