  • On the weekend, I had lunch with the lovely Nina from @whatsforeats. Her expertise is in inspiring people find peace with food and moving away from the dieting mentality. She was discussing Christmas and New Years Resolutions. Now we at Foost (and Nina too) want everyone to enjoy the festive season, including and especially food. But there is an alternative to treating every meal as a last supper and thinking I’ll just set some Resolutions in the new year. As this time of year can turn into one month long last supper. Rather than over-eating in December and restricting in Jan why not try tuning into you body a little more. Take a moment to think about what you feel like eating. When you are eating, think about when you feel satisfied and comfortable. (of course some mindless eating and overeating is normal, especially at this time of year).

Riding to school reminded me of that idea today. We haven’t rode in over at week (for many reasons). Now I could beat myself up about not riding last week or say well there are only two weeks of school left so we’ll ride again next year. But yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not yet here, so today we enjoyed a ride. Not because we should, or because we didn’t yesterday but because I like riding. The world is not all or nothing and nor is eating. Enjoy today for today, but take a moment sometimes to listen to your body and be in the moment. #festiveeating #enjoychristmas #peacewithfood
